Top, dress, jumpsuit with open back can be strengthened and made more comfortable by stitching bra cups into the bodice.

This life hack eliminates the need to look for a special bra for a dress, top or other thing with an open back or open shoulders. A suitable bra or cup is sewn from the inside of the bodice of the thing and supports the chest. Two workshops below are about how to sew a bra or separate cups into a dress or other thing (you can buy them at sewing stores).

Master class 1: How to sew a bra in a dress or other thing

Here, the bra is used to enhance the open summer jumpsuit with thin straps. Take a bra that you no longer wear, for example, because of a worn strap or belt: you only need cups. You can also buy a simple bra without unnecessary decor, it makes sense that it be strengthened with bones, and the cups are tight.

You will need:

- a suitable bra;

- scissors;

- tailor pins;

- matching thread and needle for hand sewing.

Step 1

Remove or cut the straps and cut off the bra belt.

Step 2

Evaluate the bodice of your thing: is it possible to sew the entire bra or do the cups need to be cut and cut off the jumper connecting them. Here is the second option. Find a place for the cups, trying on a thing and putting them from the inside into the bodice, and pin them with pins.

Manually sew small cups in several places on the bodice. Done.

Master class 2: How to sew cups in a dress or other thing

The second option is to use special cups to strengthen the bodice. Often they are sewn into wedding, open evening dresses, but they will help to make any open dresses, including swimwear, more convenient. Cups come in different colors, in different shapes, with or without push-up effect.

You will need:

- cups;

- tailor pins;

- Suitable thread and needle for hand sewing.

Step 1

Try on a thing and find a place for the cups. Pin them with pins.

Step 2

Sew the cups manually in several places. Done.
