Bamboo fabric is called two types of material, differing in the method of production. They have both common properties and differences.
Bamboo: two kinds of fiber
They began to produce bamboo textile at the end of the last century, and today there are two main technologies for its production. The raw material in both cases is bamboo - a perennial evergreen plant of the cereal family, one of the fastest growing plants on our planet. Bamboo stalks are treated in different ways, resulting in a different fiber, and the materials made from it are also different.
1. Bamboo viscose or bamboo rayon
This method is similar to the one used to make viscose from wood. Bamboo raw materials are subjected to several chemical reactions, resulting in a pulp. The mass is pulled into threads, passing through a filter. From such fibers are made what is called bamboo viscose (bamboo rayon) or bamboo rayon (bamboo rayon).
2. Bamboo flax
This method is more expensive, environmentally friendly and rare than the first. It is similar to flax or hemp fiber technology. Bamboo is treated with enzymes, causing the stems to soften, and then comb them out mechanically. As a result, rather long fibers are obtained from the stems, the texture is not as smooth as in the case of bamboo viscose.From these fibers, a material called bamboo linen is made. It is considered more environmentally friendly, but it is expensive and less common in the market.

Bamboo: basic properties
The properties of bamboo viscose and bamboo flax are slightly different. There are common features.

Despite the fact that bamboo viscose is obtained artificially, this material, like bamboo linen, is made from natural, not synthetic, raw materials.
* Hygroscopicity
Both types of bamboo material absorb and evaporate moisture well.
* Breathability
Bamboo passes air well.
* UV protection
Both bamboo viscose and bamboo linen have the ability to retain ultraviolet. Bamboo linen protects against UV radiation to a greater extent.
* Durability
Both types of material are quite durable (but bamboo linen is usually stronger).
* Antibacterial and antifungal effect
This property is inherent only to bamboo flax and decreases in the process of washing the fabric.
* Comfort to use
Both types of material are pleasant and comfortable to use, they are suitable for people with sensitive skin.
* Ability to maintain the original color for a long time
Bamboo materials do not fade for a long time.
