Ulyana Sergeenko is the only Russian designer whose shows are regularly held as part of the High Fashion Weeks in Paris. She is a frequent guest of other no less significant fashion events of the world.

Her collections are sold out immediately after the shows, and dress from Ulyana Sergeenko is not just mortals, but celebrities: pop stars, politicians, business stars. Beyonce appears in her dresses, Madonna starred in her outfits in videos, Natalia Vodyanova and Ksenia Sobchak, Kim Kardashian and Rita Ora wear her clothes, and Dita von Teese and Ornella Muti do not miss a single show of the Russian diva. Even the French Vogue and American Glamor are guided by the opinion of Ulyana. How did a simple Russian girl manage to create a unique a-la russe style that does not leave the covers of famous fashion publications and sets the tone in the world of mass-market retail?

Ulyana Sergeenko was born in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. I went to the gymnasium there. School wall newspapers wrote legends about Ulyana - she was a bright girl and the most stylish from early childhood. But the head teachers and the director didn’t like Ulyana: she was repeatedly summoned to her classrooms for an overly free reading of her school uniform.
10 fashion tips from Coco Chanel The fashionable idol of little Uliana was her grandmother. Colorful skirts on the floor, neat shoes, a sweeping Russian scarf and always a hairstyle, a bun decorated with applicative flowers or the finest lace, became for the girl a kind of fashionable standard. Later, she will bring the a-la russe style romance to the world’s catwalks and conquer them with her collections based on children's perceptions of femininity.

Abroad, fashion critics call Sergeyenko Matreshka and Babushka. Variegated maxi skirts, fur vests and colorful scarves really became her hallmark. But only at first. Later, Ulyana fell in love with her childhood fairy tale about her grandmother and other fashionable canons: architecture, layering, appeal to painting and retro eras, beauty of the body and sexuality, graphics, minimalism, constructivism, pop art.

Ulyana Sergeenko has several fashionable rules that should be taken as a basis, starting her journey to the top of the fashionable Olympus.

1. Long and painful attempts to find your style will not lead to the desired result. Refer to what has always been in you, to what you liked, how much you remember yourself. Boy biker style and rocker jacket? Or vice versa a long skirt, like a princess, and curled curls? Choose what is organic to your soul. Then the outfit will sit on you like a glove, and not look alien, like a dress on a mannequin.
"I didn’t look for style, it was always like that. I look according to what I absorbed in my childhood: a long skirt, shoes, low-key top."

2. Whatever your favorite outfit, your business card, experiment. Learn from your successful and unsuccessful images, unsuccessful - discard, successful - transform. If you are wearing formal suits with a straight miniskirt and a jacket or long romantic dresses with a floral print, let this be your trump card in case of a responsible exit. And for every day, choose the best elements of your corporate identity and wear in everyday combinations with simple things. For example, you already know that that straight miniskirt suits you from an expensive suit. Stock up on a skirt of the same cut, but from a lighter material, tuck in a simple white top, decorate a necklace made of large artificial stones.Let natural pearls wait for a special occasion; wearing all the most elegant every day is not fashionable.
“I wear jeans and sneakers for work. Do you really think that I wear a scarf and a skirt on the floor every day?”

3. Insert a board on Pinterest, a folder on your computer, or just make it a rule to take photos of your favorite images and fold them for later inspiration. You ask, why watch an old black and white film, is it boring? In order to memorize styles and hairstyles. Why go to fashion shows, because I don’t understand anything in art? Then to understand. Remember the combination of oils on the canvases. Inspired by the palette. Catch the imagination of the creators. Many motifs from the great canvases we later see on the catwalks. But you can feel and catch it from the air no worse than the most famous designers.

"The way I dress depends on my mood and its sources. Many images are born in my head after watching a movie or reading a book. And they are usually from the past."

4. No matter how you dress, remember that it is not the clothes that color the person, but the person - the clothes. If your face looks unhappy, your shoulders look down, and you hide your eyes from this beautiful world, no magic dress from the latest collection can compensate for this. And vice versa, if you are wearing ordinary jeans and a simple white T-shirt, while your eyes are burning and the corners of your lips are looking up, everything that suits you is Ulyana Sergeenko - red lipstick and a luxurious skirt on the floor.
"A person can be made happy only that is connected with emotions, feelings, with love, kindness."

5. How to stay fashionable it-girl in the eyes of others? Once having established himself as a fashionista, do not give up positions, never go to the store or even take out the garbage dressed casually. Even at home, let the home ones always see you stylish, neat, with burning eyes. After all, suddenly someone of them would suddenly want to capture you and upload a photo on Instagram? You can be dressed simply, in jeans and sneakers, but sloppy sometimes. Once pick up what suits you: the cloak that you throw, if you need to run out for bread, the hairstyle that suits you even when you didn’t put your hair in, the sneakers that you jump into when you remember that you missed the parent meeting. And do not change these lucky finds. They will help you out both in the most solemn situations, and in the most everyday.
"I'm obsessed with fashion. I like changing dresses, I like to think through a unique look, combining things. But when I don't have time, I jump into jeans and feel great without makeup."
