How to make a leather belt in ethnic style

Step 1

Measure the circumference of the body where you will wear the belt (waist, hips and so on). Add at least 15 cm to the resulting measurement. This is the length of the belt part. Width = buckle clearance + seam allowances.

Cut 2 identical pieces of fabric and 1 the same of non-woven fabric. Fold 2 fabric parts with the sides facing inward, a non-woven part on top, and pin together with pins.

Step 2

Sew the parts along the long sides. Make sure the distance between the stitches is equal to the length of the gap in the buckle. Cut the zigzag allowances with scissors.

Step 3

Using a safety pin, twist the belt.

Step 4

Spread the seams and iron the belt. On the short sides, fill in stocks and stitch.

Step 5

Put the buckle in and sew the tip of the belt manually. Done.
